Z nedeljskim kosilom za piko na i
With a Sunday lunch to top it off



Torej, še preden sva se z Jakoba spustila v "dolino", se je tu in tam sramežljivo prikazovalo sonce, dol grede je bilo še bolj radodarno s svojo toploto, ko pa so naju v prepolni gostilni v času kosil posedli za – po najinem mnenju – najboljšo mizo (beri: miza z odličnim razgledom - bolje se vidi na zadnjem posnetku prejšnje objave), sva uživala v s soncem obsijani pokrajini, ki se je jesensko zeleníla pod nama.
 

Ja, gostilna Dobnikar je ena tistih, kjer zagotovo veš, da ne boš razočaran (ponaša se tudi z znakom Gostilna Slovenija). Obiskujem jo že od malih nog, kamor smo z družino velikokrat zavili po kakem od osvojenih okoliških hribčkov in kjer še dandanes v strežbi videvam iste ljudi (ali pa njihove otroke) kot takrat davno nazaj.

Privoščila sva si okusno nedeljsko kosilo, kjer so bili tako prijazni in prilagodljivi, da so mi namesto gobove juhe, ki jo sicer tudi obožujem in ki je bila sestavni del kosila, prinesli korenčkovo z ingverjem, ki me je pač zamikala, ker ni ravno pogosto na jedilnih listih, za povrh pa sva naročila še sladico, s katero so naju mamili z napisom na tabli že pred vhodom v gostilno in ki je bila čisto po mojem okusu, lahka, izvirna in s sezonskim, domačim priokusom – cimetov sladoled s kostanjevo kremo.
 

Skratka, dobro je tisto kosilo, o katerem, kljub temu da je bilo tradicionalno domače, tako zelo kot je svinjska pečenka s praženim krompirjem, torej nič novega, milo sanjaš še po nekaj dneh, se pravi o celotnem doživetju, z ambientom, ljudmi in hrano vred, in kasneje z veseljem o tem širiš vest.

So, even before we started to descend from Sveti Jakob to the "valley", the sun spread its rays in a shy way here and there, it was much more generous with its warmth on the way down, but when we had been sat at the – by our opinion – the best table (meaning: table with the great view - see it better in the last picture of the previous post) in a very very crowdy gostilna in the time of lunch, we enjoyed the beautiful landscape bathing in sunshine under us.
 

Yes, the Dobnikar is one of those gostilnas where I would invite my foreign friends to taste some good traditional Slovenian cuisine. I have been visiting it since I remember, with my family, after we returned from hiking up many of the lovely surrounding hills.
 

This time, after Sunday lunch we ordered dessert, cinnamon icecream and chestnut cream – I like such desserts, light, original and with seasonal and local touch - delicious!

Rikijevo kraljestvo
Riki's kingdom



Povedala sem že, da je ekološko posestvo Trnulja zame eno prijetnejših turistično-kulinaričnih odkritij, ne samo na ljubljanskem območju, ampak celo širše.

Nisem vam pa še povedala za Rikija, posrečenega kužka mešančka, ki ima, tako kot vse takele zverinice, ki jih poznamo, ane!, nadzor nad vsem svojim prostranim kraljestvom in ki obiskovalce prijazno zabava s svojimi triki.
 

O dobrotah, domačnosti, o filozofiji črpanja iz tistega, kar ti nudi okolje, žetve tistega, kar sam poseješ, in postavljanja nove hiše iz zidakov stare ne bom pisala, ker bolje kot imajo vse skupaj razloženo na njihovi spletni strani ne bi mogla strniti.

Rečem samo še to, da je prestolnica potrebovala nekaj takega (in potrebovala bi še več podobnih, v prihodnost usmerjenih in s preteklostjo zabeljenih projektov, po vsej deželi) in ni boljšega kot to, da je ta navdihujoča zgodba zrasla ravno na njeni barjanski strani, tisti strani, ki ima najgloblje kulturno-zgodovinske korenine. Z vodno žilo, ki je oddaljena le streljaj od kmetije in po kateri pluje ladjica, pa je povezana tudi s samim srcem, z utripom starega mestnega jedra. Če to ni najboljša kombinacija!


Aja, pa eno presno tortico smo jim nesli v zahvalo [na zadnjem posnetku]. Saj bi se rada pohvalila, da sem jo sama naredila, pa je večino dela v bistvu maminega, jaz sem imela samo občutek ogrooomnega udejstvovanja, v resnici sem pa samo pokvarila zunanji izgled, če potegnem črto.

I have already said that organic country estate Trnulja is one of the most pleasant tourist and culinary discoveries for me in the area of Ljubljana.
 

But I haven’t told you yet about Riki, a cute mongrel dog that has, like all other little beasts that we know, don’t we!, a control over the whole wide kingdom and that kindly amuses visitors with his tricks.

I will not write about their goodies, about the future-oriented project sprinkled with the past, about harvesting what is sown by your own hand, about building a new house out of bricks of an old one, because I could not do better than you can read on their web site.


I will say just one more thing: it is placed in a perfect spot, in the rural side of the capital that has the deepest cultural and historical routes, on Barje, and at the same time it is linked with its most urban side; namely, there is a riverboat connection with the old centre. A winning combination!


Oh, yes, and we gave a little thank you present to the owners, my mum’s raw cake [in the last picture].

Nanos me je tokrat spomnil na lokomotivo! :) The Nanos hill reminded me of a locomotive this time! :)

Vse to pa je bilo le v mimohodu. Glavno točko izleta pokažem kmalu.
But all this was just by the way. Very soon I will show you the main destination of our trip.

Kako nam jo je tokrat zagodel?
 

Natakarici v gostilni, kamor nas je povabil na kosilo ob svojem rojstnem dnevu, je, ko se je šel nekaj dni prej meniti glede pogostitve, naročil, naj nikakor ne spusti naprej nikogar, ki ne bi imel s seboj vstopnice.
 

Ja, prav ste slišali. Večer prej nam je vsem razdelil vstopnice, take zaresne s kuponom, ki jih je po njegovih željah oblikoval moj oči, take, profesionalno spete v lično podolgovato knjižico, iz katere nam jih je eno po eno ponosno trgal. Prisežem! :)
 

In, na srečo prijazna gospa Tadeja iz gostilne Sla-ma-r v Šmarje-Sapu našega dedka že toliko pozna od lani, da je rade volje sodelovala pri njegovi vragoliji in ob prihodu vpričo zadovoljnega slavljenca zelo resno trgala kupončke. :)

What has he done this time?


A few days before he invited us for a lunch for his birthday, he had told a waitress in the gostilna to not let anyone of us in who doesn’t bring her/his ticket.
 

Yes, you heard it right. The evening before the celebration he distributed tickets with coupons that my dad had designed based on his ideas, such, the real ones, professionally fastened together into a cute little coupon-book, and then proudly tearing them out one by one for each of us. I swear! :)
 

On fortunately kind Mrs. Tadeja from gostilna Sla-ma-r knows him already very well from the last year, so she gladly took part at his witty game and was quite seriously checking and tearing-off our coupons at the entrance under supervision of our very much pleased birthday man. :)
 

(And panjske končnice, the traditional Slovenian folk art of beehive-panel paintings, are also full of fun many times.)

Vabeče sonce
An inviting sun



Ko so se (v Kamniški Bistrici) razbežale meglice, nas je sonce zvabilo na potep po njeni okolici,
v tamkajšnji koči pa smo si privoščili nekaj dobrot.

When the mists (in Kamniška Bistrica) had disappeared the sun invited us to explore around
and have a lunch at the local hut.

The dishes above are traditional Slovenian, first one žganci with home yoghurt [picture 3],
the second one jota (it can be made both, with turnip or sauerkraut) [picture 7]
and one of my favourite wines called cviček [last picture].
