Za sladko piko na i
To make a sweet dot above i



Prav tako kot so nama zvezde svetile na nebu nad Štanjelom, so nama lučke krasile svod malo kasneje v Hiši posebne sorte nedaleč stran, v Kodretih, kamor sva se namenila izkoristit eno od poročnih daril.

Preden sva prispela, sva se zapeljala še do sosednje vasi, Erzelja, ki je edino slovensko naselje na črko e. Tam nama je pred avto skočila srnica, ki potem ni mogla ali znala nazaj v strm breg niti na drugi strani čez ograjo in je zato reva nekaj časa bezljala pred nama po cesti.


Verjetno je bila na smrt prestrašena, a vedela sva, da nama kaj dosti ni storiti kot počasi peljati za njo, ji nehote osvetljevati cikcakasto bežečo belo rit in ji dati čas, da nekje le najde priložnost za pobeg.


Torej, jedla sva v pravljično lepi sobi in jedla sva dobro; še posebej bi izpostavila joto, vem, kako neizvirno, a konec koncev je tako tudi prav, seveda pričakuješ, da imajo Kraševci joto in da imajo dobro joto, ker, saj veste, kaj si mislim o samoumevnosti – to je ena zahrbtna zverina, ki nam neprestano skuša osiromašiti življenje.


Všeč pa mi je bil tudi tris sladic, mêni, ki nekako ne padam na sladice, no, pravzaprav padam ZELO, na nekatere, ampak tukaj ne bom razpravljala o tem, na katere, ker ne znam na kratko, pa tudi na dolgo ne vem, če. Jedrnate in sladke; se pravi, veliko raje imam en sam samcat mali, nabit šus čokolade, ki te vrže, kot pet ogromnih, a razredčenih cukrasto-smetanastih tort, ki te pustijo mlačne. Na primer.


Kakorkoli, kaki! Kaki, kaki, kaki. Kakijev sladoled, krhelj in polivka. Mmmm. In tudi ciganski štrudelj mi je bil zelo pogodu. Skratka, mičkeno, luštkano, grižljajčkasto. Za sladko piko na i.

Just like stars had been shining above the Štanjel sky, a bit later the lights were decorating an arched eating room in Hiša posebne sorte [=House of a Special Sort] not far away, where we came to to use one of our wedding gifts.


Before we arrived we drove through the neighbouring village Erzelj, which is the only settlement in the country beginning on e. There was a little dear who has jumped in front of our car and couldn’t or didn’t now how to get back up to the woods again, because it was to steep, neither it couldn’t escape to the other side, because there was a fence protecting vineyards, so the poor little thing was running wild on the road in front of us for a while.
 

It was probably scared to death, but we knew we can’t do much but driving slowly after it, with our lights directed in its zigzagy white ass and giving it enough time to find its way out somewhere.

So, we were dinning in a lovely room and we were dining well. I especially want to mention sauerkraut jota soup; I know, quite unoriginal, as it is one of the region’s traditional dishes, but afterall, too many times we take things for granted and for-granted-ness is that kind of a beast that constantly tries to make our life poorer as it actually is.


I also liked the dessert tris, I, who usually don’t fall for desserts, well, actually I do VERY much, for some of them anyway, but I won’t explain which, because I can’t in short, I am not even sure about the long version. Succinct and sweet, I mean, I very much prefer one tiny loaded dose of chocolate that blows you away than five huge, but diluted sugary-creamy cakes that leave you lukewarm. As an example.


Anyway, kaki! Kaki, kaki, kaki. Kaki ice cream, a dried slice of it and a sauce. Mmmm. I also liked a strudel made on gipsy way, as I have learned. In short, tiny, cutie and for little bites. :) To sweet-top it off or, as we say, to make a sweet dot above letter i.
