Dekle z galebom
Maiden with the seagull

Danes v spokojno predsezonski Opatiji pri sosedih, kjer očitno vedo, kdo so prave zvezde.
Today’s pre-season tranquillity in Opatija town in Croatia, where the real celebrities are artists,
like for example one of their greatest writers.

Spet po starem
Back to old one

Danes objavljam Mirove fotografije, posnete v nedeljo v Crngrobu, ko me je z najinim fotoaparatom ovekovečil v akciji s sposojenim. Kaj vse je posnel, sem videla šele doma. :)

Takó, for the last five posts, from Bohinj on, I have been using borrowed photo camera, so I had even greater pleasure pressing the trigger these past days.

Today I’m posting some of Miro’s photos from Crngrob, when he captured me in action with the borrowed one. It was only after we came home, that I found out about these pictures. :)

For the end I’m introducing our famous camera for the first time. It is the one that is guilty for the vast majority of the images on this blog (including of course the first four here in this post). I’m setting it in such company with a wish that it will bring me luck at taking pictures also in the future.

Now, after few days, I’m returning back to it again, but wishes of something better (and one day even better better) remain of course. And that is why I finally decided to sell my good old beloved analog film camera that was out of use for a few years now and is resting in a closet. I cry a little, because we had such a great time together, including one photo-exhibition.

Gloves were made by my mom and that cute tote bag my sister brought me from Yemen one day.

Čudna bitja na Barju?
Strange creatures on Barje?

We added a pleasant Barje afternoon to yesterday’s witch hunting morning,
as Letimo balloon flew up in the sky again.

Despite some hints saying otherwise, there are no strange looking  little creatures
living on Barje (Ljubljana marshlands) either! :)

Čarovniške pokrajine
Witchy landscapes

We were accompanied on Slivnica hill today by spring sunrays, sweet sea-smelling winds and a view towards the remains of Cerkniško jezero, the disappearing lake that is never the same as it changes with seasons.

Bellow the top of the hill there is a cave where warm and moist air rises from in winter time, manifesting as a mist, so in the past people believed that this hill is a home of witches.

We didn’t meet any of them, but we did see some young hellebores shyly peaking through the snow, when we crossed mysterious woods and came on the plateau. This one is to honour this day, Slovenia’s national holiday, the Day of Culture, when we proudly remember our greatest poet France Prešeren.

Labodje jezero
Swan Lake

It was already so late yesterday when I was preparing post about Crngrob, that I didn’t show you
where we awaited the moon later in the evening.

At Zbiljsko jezero, Lake Zbilje, which Miro and I named it swan lake.

But in spite of their elegant appearance these white birds don’t have any sense of romance. While you are enjoying the magnificent view towards st. Jakob hill, they are – just like that – showing off their backsides in front of you!

I won’t share with you the dirtiest photos, but I wonder if it is too inappropriate to post just a little piece of this indecency? :)

Crngrob

O izvoru tega zanimivega, vendar mračnega imena obstaja kar nekaj razlag.

We visited a famous 13. century church at Crngrob near Škofja Loka town this afternoon.

There are many theories about the origin of this interesting, but rather dark name: Crngrob means blackgrave.

The most believable is that it derives from German word erngruben, which is combination of two words: “ern” (ploughing) and “groube” (pit). This indicates to an excavation and makes lot of sence, as there is a big rib hanging in the church. Some data says it’s a wale’s, some that it’s of a mammoth and other that it belonged to mythical Ajdovska girl, who helped workers building the church standing with one foot on Šmarna gora hill and the other on Šmarjetna gora hill. She was giving them big rocks and water from Sava River.

The second legend about the name says that the governor of Škofja Loka was very proud of the height of town church and when he found out about these big plans for the new church, he wanted to stop the workers. But when he was on a scaffold the wind blew him down. A black grass has grown on his grave afterwards.

Arcades in front of the church were the place where scenes from one of our most beautiful love story films Cvetje v jeseni (Blossoms in Autumn) was filmed.

Od Bohinja do Barja
From Bohinj to Barje

Miro’s balloon team Letimo chose particularly attractive start point for today’s flight – Bohinj. This location with its breathtaking lake was just perfect to test a new camera that is available for us over the weekend.

This time the balloon flew across almost half of Slovenia and landed at ljubljansko barje (Ljubljana’s marshland on the south-east part of the capital).

Blog triptih: 1/3

Predstavljam prvi blog z mojega triptiha, tokrat iz domačih logov;

I’m introducing first blog out of my triptych, this time from my homeland, Slovenia:

[vse slike / all images: LUNASPI]

Sašin blog ti prirase k srcu zaradi spretnega sukanja besed, svežega in iskrivega pisanja, polnega zanimivih bridko-sladkih prigod.

Naj vas Lunaspi nasmeji!

Saša's blog grows to your heart because of her skilful word-twisting, because of fresh and sparkling writing, full of interesting bitter-sweet adventures.

In spite of the fact that she creates on many fields, from making cloth dolls to painting, the most special chapter for me are her comic strip (mostly) dog tricks, which are so pleasantly familiar and heart warming. Her humour is above all!

Let a day be as bad as it can be, her amusing double black-and-white short stories with little puffy clouds with a rainbow content floating over them, always bring a smile back on your face.

Get witty with Lunaspi!

Bližnjice do Kitajske
Shortcuts to China

As my mom and I were having afternoon cup of Chinese green tea…

… je Zoja prav zagnano iskala... bližnjice do Kitajske? :)

… was Zoja desperately searching for... shortcuts to China? :)
