Želja po beleženju
A documenting drive

Ja, vem, grozna barva oblačila, no, vsaj moja omiljena barva ni, ampak zeblo me je in sem vzela podlogo Mirove jadralske jakne, veste, koga briga barva, ko si zaljubljen! :)

Še nekaj: danes mi je oči pokazal mojo tako-je-rekel prvo fotografijo (vse sorte moje-prve-fotografije sem že videla, ob katerih smo se smejali, te še nikoli). Ko jo dobim, jo pokažem. Ali pa morda ne. :)

It’s a lovely rainy day today, very suitable for a lazy Sunday. It was so needed, the rain, after long period of unbearably hot days.

Just like I needed a time off my blog. No special reason, very spontaneous, just had no proper will that is necessary to do it, felt no worry, sadness or discomfort about it and I decided to leave it that way, because when my soul decides to rest and my brain set to some kind of pleasant “just be” I feel that special naughty freedom of being indifferent to any inspiration, or better said, have no desire to elevate it to another level by documenting it.

Quite indescribable feeling, actually, very pleasant, really, since I know it’s just a transitional period like all the others were so far, and also something that I had said to myself when I started this blog: never force it, all posts must come smoothly and have to be created with one sort of passion. With that spicy documenting drive.

So I leave you today with an old photo of me capturing moments with one of the good old film cameras (first one officially mine in fact, Nikon F60) taken by Miro in Piran on a New Year’s Day many many years ago. Yes, I know, awful cloth colour, well, at least not my colour, but I was cold and I took the under layer of Miro’s sailing jacket, you see, who cares about the colour when you’re in love! :)

One thing more: today my dad showed me my he-said first photograph (I’ve already seen all sorts of my-first-photographs at which we laughed about, but never this one). When I get it I will show you. Or maybe not. :)

Preblisk iz osemdesetih
Eighties flashback

Obožujem to pesem!

[moj oči, navdušen ljubiteljski fotograf, je to sliko posnel še preden sta se poročila]

I love this song!

Because I remember how it was one of my mum’s favourites in eighties and how we three, together with my sister, we just couldn’t have enough of watching the video back then, whenever it started on tv.

This is for your upcoming birthday, mami! :)

[my dad, an enthusiastic photographer, had taken this picture of her before they were married]

Sem stara gospa
I'm an old lady

raje eno iz tistega, bolj zagretega obdobja;

In the last two thirds of my life I disguised myself less than half as many times
as I did in the first third. So on this Carnival Saturday I rather show you
one photo from that, more enthusiastic era:

Okrasila sem jo z zlatimi in srebrnimi zvezdicami – me zanima, kje je zdaj?

I was around 10 years old, my mom did my make up and styling. The shawl was her's, but she gave it to me few years ago and I carry it with a great joy.
The hat is my grandmother’s and the wig is borrowed. I was photographed by my dad, who also made me this beautiful fan from hard paper.
I decorated it with golden and silver little stars – I wonder where it is now?

Zaspanka
Sleepyhead

[Korenine]*

Najraje ustvarjam v poznih urah. Ja, sem nočna ptica in tu nastane začaran krog! :)

---===---===---===---

Since I remember I was more sleepy kind of a person. I adore beautiful morning’s views, but I have lots of problems getting up early.

My days start slowly, but when I get the speed through the day I can’t be stopped easily. My best hours for creating are usually late at night. Yes, I’m a night bird. And there is the magic circle! :)

dokaz, ki potrjuje zgoraj napisano, iz časov tik preden sem postala šolarka – medtem, ko me mami češe, jaz niti ne vem zase;
a proof from my preschool period that confirms what is written above – while my mother combs my hair I am not even aware of myself:

[Korenine so otroštvo, družinska tradicija, predmeti, ki imajo posebno čustveno vrednost in dogodki, ki me zaznamujejo.

Srce

Če dobro pomislim, so korenine in srce eno in isto, korenine so v mojem srcu, srce pa poganja nove, sveže korenine.]

[Korenine are my roots, my childhood, family tradition; they are objects that have a special emotional value for me and events that have defined me somehow.
Srce is my heart, my present life, my ljubi, with objects which are important for our joined paths and moments that are bringing us even closer to each other.
On the second thought, the roots and the heart are basically one thing; the roots are in my heart and the heart is spreading new, fresh roots.]

Fireball

Danes nadaljujem zgodbo, ki sem jo malo nakazala nekaj objav nazaj.

Letos se je začela že 4. sezona, ko se ne udeležujeva regat. Vzela sva si odmor, da si urediva dom. Kadar se spomnim na regate, jih tako zelo pogrešam in komaj čakam, da se spet vrneva. Medtem pa lahko le obujam spomine;

---===---===---===---

Today I’m continuing with the story that I started few posts back.

When I met Miro he was just starting with competing in sailing, to be specific: in a fireball class. That is why I, who have never had any experiences on sailing boats, big or small ones, have landed on a sailing boat very soon after that.

It all started with him taking me on board a few times after a regatta. Later I jumped in instead of his co-sailor from time to time. Soon we sailed together regularly, at least for last couple of seasons. In each season there are about 7 regattas, which count for Slovenian Cup.

Since I remember I love the sea very much, that’s why I really enjoyed the sailing. But there is one thing that I was not so excited about: regatta rules and sailing rules on general! So, I was mostly just listening to Miro’s instructions (or better: his shouting in the wind) which rope to pull, in which direction we have to turn and who has the advantage.

Despite of my sailing non-knowledge and mostly because of the fact that in Slovenian Cup there is also a sub-group called Silver Cup, which includes “a bit less concurrent” crews we managed to sail a few regattas quite successfully in this group. We collected few little cups on regattas and in seasonal final rankings and we even won silver medals on Slovenian National Championships.

But – rules or no rules – those regattas brought me so much joy, racing fever, fights with the wind and waves, adrenalin moments, tense situations, blisters, bruises, tears and laughter. But most of all I enjoyed relaxed hanging with sailing gang after coming to the coast and some best evening parties.

The forth season in the row has started since we do not participate any more. We took a brake to make our future home. When I think of regattas I miss them so much and I hardly wait to return to competing. Meanwhile I can just live with my memories:

državno prvenstvo leta 2002, ki je potekalo v Izoli, sem spremljala z regatne jadrnice;
I was watching national championships 2002 in Izola from a regatta sailing boat:

leta 2004 je Izola gostila evropsko prvenstvo in takrat sem za Mira navijala z enega od gliserjev;
in 2004 there was European Championships held in Izola and that time I was "cheerleading" for Miro from one of motor-boats:

te tri posnetki pa so z državnega prvenstva 2006 v Izoli, ki je zadnja regata, ki sva se je udeležila (jaz sem v rumenem);
the following three pictures are from nationals 2006 in Izola, the last regatta we were participating on (I'm in yellow) :)

Vse najboljše!
Happy Birthday!

Danes praznuje moja sestra.

In sem predlagala Pikapolonico. Staršema očitno ni bilo všeč.

Vse najboljše, Saša! Vseeno mi prinašaš srečo! :)

---===---===---===---

Today my sister is celebrating.

At this occasion I’ll repeat a well known little anecdote about naming her. When she was born my parents asked me how shall we name her.
As the German cartoon
Čebelica Maja (Maya the bee) was very popular at the time I thought if my name is the same like an insect, why wouldn’t she have it too – it’s quite logical! So I suggested Pikapolonica (Ladybird). Parents obviously didn’t like it.

Vse najboljše, Saša! You are bringing me luck anyway! :)

pri oblikovanju ovojnega papirja za darilo sem si znova pomagala z vzorčki AVGUSTvarjanj;

Korenine in srce
Roots and heart

[Korenine]

Ste opazili podnaslov mojega spletnika:

V
Koreninah bom objavljala vse, kar se tiče mojega otroštva, družinske tradicije; skratka predmetov, ki imajo zame posebno čustveno vrednost in dogodkov, ki so me nekako zaznamovali.

V

Če dobro pomislim, so korenine in srce eno in isto, korenine so v mojem srcu, srce pa poganja nove, sveže korenine.

Koreninami. Ker zelo cenim stare obrti in predvsem danes tako redke ročno izdelane predmete, mi veliko pomeni, da imam nekaj teh njegovih krtač tudi sama.

---===---===---===---

Have you noticed the subtitle of my blog:
od korenin do srca (“from my roots to the heart”)?

All from the start I had in mind a series of posts with a label
Korenine (The roots) or Srce (The heart).

In
Korenine I’ll post everything regarding my roots, family tradition, childhood, and so on - shortly: the objects that have a special emotional value for me and events that have defined me somehow.

The same structure will be in
Srce series, with exception that there will be everything regarding my present life, my heart, my Miro, with objects which are important for our joined paths and moments that are bringing us even closer to each other.

On the second thought, the roots and the heart are basically one thing; the roots are in my heart and the heart is spreading new, fresh roots.

Today, at the anniversary of death of my great-grandfather (on my mother’s side), I’m starting with
Korenine. He manufactured brushes and because I cherish old crafts and above all today so rare handmade objects it means a lot to me to own some of them.

največjo vrednost ima mala krtača, ki mi jo je naredil za darilo ob mojem rojstvu, z mojima inicialkama;
the most valuable brush for me is the one, which he made me for a gift at my birth, with my initials:

vse pradedkove krtače, ki jih imam za spomin (eno med njimi je Miro lani dobil v dar od mojega dedka, ki hrani krtače svojega očeta);
all great-grandfather’s brushes that I have (one of them is actually Miro’s; he got it last year as a gift from my grandfather, who kept remained brushes from his father):

pradedek med izdelovanjem krtač;
great-grandfather making brushes:

nekaj fotografij pradedka in mene s sredine sedemdesetih; umrl je, preden sem dopolnila 3 leta;
few photos from mid seventies of my great-grandfather and me; he died before I was 3 years old:

---===---===---===---

I will add those new labels “korenine” and “srce” also to two old posts: Čarovnije and Perspektiva that should also have them actually.

Perspektiva
Perspective

[Korenine]*

---===---===---===---

As so many children I
also liked to draw and paint .

But! – because my father is an architect and architects can’t live without their perspectives, he showed me that little flowers which I was painting at the moment aren’t all the same size if they are differently far away from you.

I couldn’t agree with that. I determinately defended my point of view that a flower is just a flower and therefore why should I draw them in different sizes if they are in fact
all the same size no matter where they are (now I see that this stand of mine was quite philosophical).

This painting was such a hit that kept hanging on that wall at least for a year, and it also looks like I got very serious meanwhile! :)
