Nedeljski suši Sunday sushi

Prepričana sem, da moja mami naredi najboljši suši,

kljub temu, da ga nisem poskusila še nikjer drugje.

Dobro za nas, da je v petek gledala eno kuharsko oddajo, ki ji je dala misliti,

da že nekaj časa ni pripravila te japonske poslastice. :)

I’m pretty sure that my mum makes the best sushi there is,

although I haven’t tried it anywhere else yet.

And good for us that she watched a cooking show two days ago, which made her think

that she haven’t prepared this Japanese delicacy for quite some time already. :)

Nevihtno logaško nebo je bilo danes privlačno prepredeno z rdečimi žilicami [slika 1],

čez nekaj ur pa si je pod rdečim senčnikom tale lušten mali pobalin

neizmerno želel moje kalamare! [slika 2] :)

Kaj je lepšega kot sprehoditi se po prelepi poletno žuboreči Ljubljani

in za vogalom naleteti na božajoč glas Mie Žnidarič,
pospremljen z mravljinčastimi ritmi njene spremljevalne ekipe.

glavni razlog za potep po mestu je bil seveda obisk njihovega koncerta v Zvezda park Paviljonu! :)]

Is there something better than to walk through the beautifully summer rippling of Ljubljana

and to came across the gorgeous soul-caressing voice of Mia Žnidarič 
accompanied by rhythms of her band that give you shivers down your spine.

the main reason for this little town-trip was their concert in Zvezda park Paviljon! :)]

Mia Žnidarič is top Slovenian jazz singer and I’m her big fan for a long time already.

Veliko platno The great canvas

V četrtek smo lebdeli med energičnimi barvami in nežno sivino, med sodobnim in pradavnim, med originalnimi talnimi mozaiki in dramatičnim nebesnim svodom, med toplim poletnim večerom in vetrovno večnostjo, ki je kakor most povezovala razstavljavkin prej in zdaj.

Slikarska razstava Erike Železnik nas je popeljala iz realizma v sanje in spet nazaj iz sanj v resničnost, dokler se le-ti nista zlili v eno samo.

Srca nam je ogrel še nastop Staneta Mancinija, med drugim nam je zapel prelepo zimzeleno Mandolino, tako da smo si jih hladili s sprehodom po razstavi še ene odlične umetnice, katere dela so vedno na ogled. Njeno platno je bilo tokrat razpeto med obema klasicističnima Erbergovima paviljonoma graščine Dol in onkraj. [Osrednja grajska stavba je prvič omenjena leta 1540.]
Pod vtisom živih in optimističnih potez prve umetnice, si lahko ugledal dramatične in nekoliko melanholične krožne poteze nad sabo. Vse skupaj pa se je proti koncu dneva spojilo v eno platno in eno občutje. Tisto najprijetnejše. In vznemirljivo nedoločljivo.

Razstava je na ogled do 7. avgusta, ob sobotah in nedeljah od 17. do 19. ure.

On Thursday we were floating between energetic colours and gentle greyness, between modern and ancient, between original floor mosaics and dramatic celestial vault, between warm summer evening and windy eternity that linked together the exhibitor’s before and now.

The painting exhibition of Erika Železnik led us from realism into dreams and back again from dreams into reality till those two became one.

Our hearts were warmed also by already 80 years old singer Stane Mancini with his evergreens like the famous Mandolina. We were cooling them down with a walk through the exhibition of another excellent artist, whose works are always on display. This time her canvas was stretched between both classicist Erberg pavilions of the Dol manor and beyond. [The central manor building was first mentioned in 1540.]

Under the impression of rich and optimistic brush stokes of the first artist you could see dramatic and somehow melancholic circular strokes above yourself. Altogether it was fused into one canvas and one feeling at the end of the day. That of the most pleasant kind. And thrillingly indefinable.

The exhibition is open till August 7th, on Saturdays and Sundays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Teden mokrega lista Wet leaf week

Ne samo zato, ker sem jih včeraj z več koncev poslušala,

da na mojem blogu že en teden gledajo »un moker list«,

objavljam nekaj utrinkov z najine sinočnje skupne rojstnodnevne zabave. :)

No, tokrat tele fotke prav gotovo ne bodo tu visele ves teden,

saj v vrsti čakajo že krasne četrtkove.

I was accused yesterday by many people

that they have to watch “that wet leaf” on my blog for a whole week already,

so not just because of that I’m posting a few captured moments

from last night’s Miro’ and mine joined birthday party. :)

Kriva Ščuka

V Prašah je ob Trbojskem jezeru ena taka fina brunarica, kjer strežejo samo postrvi in kruh. Brez pribora. No, vsaj včasih je bilo tako, zadnjih nekaj let dobiš zraven tudi pribor, po želji pa še krompirjevo ali zeleno solato in pomfri.

Midva sva se minulo nedeljo držala kar tiste stare navade, zaradi katere nam je okrepčevalnica Kriva ščuka vsem tako zelo všeč. Lotila sva se ju kar z rokami.

Postrv je tako zelo slastna, da včasih kar sanjam o tem, in tako posebno hrustljavo pripravljena, da nimaš prav nobenih problemov s koščicami in jo ješ kot čips.

Vsekakor je to zaradi svoje preproste izvirnosti in prijetnega ambienta že več kot 15 let ena mojih priljubljenih kulinaričnih točk.

There is one so fine log cabin in Praše village by Trboje Lake, where trouts and bread is all that they serve to you. No cutlery. Well, at least it used to be like that, however the last years you can also get green or potato salad and pomfri.

But last Sunday Miro and I had been holding to our old habit, since this is one of the reasons why we all like this Kriva ščuka (=Bended pike) inn so much. We attacked them with the hands.

The trout is so so delicious, that sometimes I even dream about it and it is so specially crunchy prepared, so that you don’t have any troubles at all with its little bones and you eat it like chips.

Due to its simple originality and pleasant ambient this is definitely one of my favourite culinary destinations for more than 15 years already.

Stavka komarjev Mosquito strike

Res ne vem, zakaj nisva tega storila že prej.

Po nekaj mučnih dneh neznosne vročine

in neprespanih nočeh zaradi nadležnih komarjev

sva si za najina rojstna dneva iz čiste nuje kupila:

blaženi stropni ventilator!

I honestly don’t know why we didn’t do it sooner.

After several days of indescribable heat

and nights full of annoying mosquitoes

we gave ourselves a much needed gift for our birthdays:

a blessed ceiling fan!

The nights are lighter now,

but the mosquitoes are protesting

and out of resentment they don’t even

want to wish happy birthday to Miro. :)

Dobre stvari Good things

Danes je bil dober dan.

Po pre-dolgem času sem se dobila z dobro prijateljico

in bivšo sošolko Uršo. Kako lepo je bilo poklepetati!

O novih stvareh, o upanjih in skrbeh,

predvsem pa o malih, a zelo pomembnih načrtih.

Kelly iz 88editions mi je za nameček sporočila,

da se je pretekli petek ena od mojih zakladnic znašla na Etsy-jevi naslovnici.

Prvič, zato sem seveda zelo vesela! :)

Today was a good day.

After too long time I went for a coffee

with my good friend and ex-schoolmate Urša.

How nice it was to chat a bit! About what’s new, about hopes and worries,

and mostly about little, but very important plans.

On top of that Kelly of 88editions let me know

that on last Friday one of my treasuries was featured on the Etsy’s front page.

First time ever, so I’m very happy of course! :)
