Smola - na napačni strani okna
Too bad - on the wrong side of the window



Zadnjič enkrat sem skuhala kar tisto, sem-ter-tja-po-hladilniku-in-skrinji.
 

Cvetačne cvetke sem na hitro skuhala v malo vode (tu govorim o petih minutah, nič več, dobri so tako ali tako tudi surovi) in jih odcedila (vodo sem seveda shranila, pa čeprav samo za eno čajno skodelico, tako lepo je dišala pa tudi na Mira sem pomislila, ki juho zelo rad pije iz skodelice). :)
 

Medtem sem posebej na čebuli in česnu popražila lističe gob, mislim da so bili kar dobri stari jurčki, jih popoprala, solila in dodala malo karija.
 

V čakajoče cvetke sem vmešala kar konkretno količino kisle smetane, dobro premešala in temu dodala še gobjo mešanico. Na krožniku sem jed potresla še z mletimi orehi in nasekljanim drobnjakom.

Res dobro. Ne samo, ker imam vse te stvari tako ali tako rada, pohvale sem dobila tudi od našega dedka, ki sem mu tisti dan kuhala in ki je bolj človek tradicionalnih in - predvsem - že preizkušenih jedi; najmanjše eksperimentiranje s sestavinami, ki jih ima sicer rad, ga lahko vrže s tira. Prizna sicer ne, vidi pa se mu na obrazu. :)

The other day I cooked the all-you-can-find-in-the-refrigerator-and-in-the-freezer.
 

I quickly cooked cauliflower florets in a little water (I am talking about no more than five minutes, they are good raw anyway) and strained them (but saved the water, of course, even though just for a tea cup, it smelled so deliciously and I also thought of Miro who adores drinking soup from a cup). :)
 

Meanwhile I separately fried, on onion and garlic, slices of mushrooms, I think they were good old porcinis, added grounded black pepper, salt and a bit of curry powder.
 

Into awaiting florets I mixed-in quite a few spoons of sour cream and then added the mushroom mixture. When served on a plate, I sprinkled the dish with grounded walnuts and chopped chives.

Really good. Not just because I like all these things anyway, I also received praises from our grandpa, for whom I was in charge to cook that day and who is a lover of more traditional and, most of all, already tested dishes and who easily gets thrown from the tracks if he sees something slightly experimental, even though made of ingredients he likes. He won’t admit it, but you can read it on his face. :)

Iiiiiiii



Miro je rezgetal, topotal in iz sebe delal opico, da sta tadva brezbrižneža končno
le za trenutek dvignila svoji glavi in pogledala proti nama ... in si verjetno mislila svoje. :)
 
Kako že gre tista: pri jedi ima še pes rad mir (?) :)

ponies look towards us for at least a moment ... and probably made them get their own opinion about everything. :)
 
I don’t know how it is with English, but here we have a saying:
when eating, even a dog doesn’t like to be disturbed. :)

Zlat dan
Golden day



Današnji dan je bil prav zlat, zares! Dedkov ljubljanski kaki je kar žarel v soncu.
Še čisto malo pa nam ne bo razveseljeval samo oči! :)

Today it was a golden day, really! Grandpa’s kaki was glowing in the sun.
Only a little while and it will please more than just our eyes! :)

No, smo šli v slednjega in tam našli cel živalski vrt. :)

Yesterday we were wondering weather to go to the zoo or to Tivoli.
Well, we decided for the latter and found the whole zoo in there. :)

Jesenski program obvladovanja jeze
An autumn anger management programme



Danes je ena ženska meni in še nekaj pešcem nestrpno potrobila (na žalost ne od veselja, ker bi koga od nas poznala), medtem ko je rinila z avtom naprej čakala, da se ji ves svet umakne prečkamo cesto pri zeleni luči.

(!«#$%&/!) Ni to, da se staram, ampak vedno pogosteje ne razumem, kako ta svet deluje. Res ne. Me je čisto vrglo s tirov. Miro je rekel, da bi morala iti v program obvladovanja jeze. :) In sva šla skupaj. V gozd. A ni krasno!

Today one woman impatiently beeped at me and at few other pedestrians (unfortunately not because she would have known one of us) when she was forcing her car forward waiting for the whole world to get out of her way us to cross the street at green light on.


(!”#$%&/!) It is not because I am getting older, but sometimes I really do not understand how this world is working. I really don’t. It threw me off my track completely. Miro said I should visit an anger management programme. :) And so we went together. To the forest. Isn’t it wonderful!

in tako sva se prvič v življenju spravila delat marmelado.

When we returned home from Portugal we were attacked by a huge basket of plums

from the neighbouring garden, so for the first time ever we made marmalade by ourselves.

Rikijevo kraljestvo
Riki's kingdom



Povedala sem že, da je ekološko posestvo Trnulja zame eno prijetnejših turistično-kulinaričnih odkritij, ne samo na ljubljanskem območju, ampak celo širše.

Nisem vam pa še povedala za Rikija, posrečenega kužka mešančka, ki ima, tako kot vse takele zverinice, ki jih poznamo, ane!, nadzor nad vsem svojim prostranim kraljestvom in ki obiskovalce prijazno zabava s svojimi triki.
 

O dobrotah, domačnosti, o filozofiji črpanja iz tistega, kar ti nudi okolje, žetve tistega, kar sam poseješ, in postavljanja nove hiše iz zidakov stare ne bom pisala, ker bolje kot imajo vse skupaj razloženo na njihovi spletni strani ne bi mogla strniti.

Rečem samo še to, da je prestolnica potrebovala nekaj takega (in potrebovala bi še več podobnih, v prihodnost usmerjenih in s preteklostjo zabeljenih projektov, po vsej deželi) in ni boljšega kot to, da je ta navdihujoča zgodba zrasla ravno na njeni barjanski strani, tisti strani, ki ima najgloblje kulturno-zgodovinske korenine. Z vodno žilo, ki je oddaljena le streljaj od kmetije in po kateri pluje ladjica, pa je povezana tudi s samim srcem, z utripom starega mestnega jedra. Če to ni najboljša kombinacija!


Aja, pa eno presno tortico smo jim nesli v zahvalo [na zadnjem posnetku]. Saj bi se rada pohvalila, da sem jo sama naredila, pa je večino dela v bistvu maminega, jaz sem imela samo občutek ogrooomnega udejstvovanja, v resnici sem pa samo pokvarila zunanji izgled, če potegnem črto.

I have already said that organic country estate Trnulja is one of the most pleasant tourist and culinary discoveries for me in the area of Ljubljana.
 

But I haven’t told you yet about Riki, a cute mongrel dog that has, like all other little beasts that we know, don’t we!, a control over the whole wide kingdom and that kindly amuses visitors with his tricks.

I will not write about their goodies, about the future-oriented project sprinkled with the past, about harvesting what is sown by your own hand, about building a new house out of bricks of an old one, because I could not do better than you can read on their web site.


I will say just one more thing: it is placed in a perfect spot, in the rural side of the capital that has the deepest cultural and historical routes, on Barje, and at the same time it is linked with its most urban side; namely, there is a riverboat connection with the old centre. A winning combination!


Oh, yes, and we gave a little thank you present to the owners, my mum’s raw cake [in the last picture].
