Mmmm ... 16

Mirova najnovejša kulinarična domislica: na maslu pražena špinača in pinjole - na kruhkih. Njami!
Miro’s newest culinary idea: spinach and pine nuts roasted on butter and put on breads. Njami!

An Iranian dinner that my sister had prepared for us, together with a photo-presentation,
when she came back from travelling across this beautiful and inspiring country.

Kaj storiti, kadar pride do nesporazuma in kot prispevek k nedeljskemu skupnemu kosilu
s sestro prineseva vsaka svojo sladico? :)
What to do when there comes to misunderstanding and both, my sister and I,
bring each her own dessert as a contribution to our Sunday family lunch? :)
(the ceramic fish coaster is her gift from Iran for our parents [one picture above])

Pogosta in preprosta malica: sir s sadjem; še boljša mi je kombinacija s hruško.
A very common and a simple malica, snack: cheese with fruit; I like even better a combination with a pear.

Breakfast with the honey that we got as a gift after our dinner at Pule estate.

Ajdovi žganci z ocvirki, repa in pečenica, nedeljsko kosilo po mamino.
Buckwheat žganci with cracklings, turnip and pečenica, bratwurst, a very typical Slovenian style lunch.

pripravila solato iz kumar, olivnega olja, limoninega soka, popra in kaper.
On the first day of December I nostalgically remembered of the sea,
so I made this salad to go to Miro’s pasta: cucumbers, olive oil, lemon juice, pepper and capers.

Oh, kako nerada si pripravim takole večerjo, kadar je Miro zdoma - ker on bi lepše narezal salamo! :)
Oh, how I don’t like preparing this kind of dinner when Miro is not at home. He cuts salami way better than I do! :)

Two of my favourite salads that my mum has often been preparing for as long as I remember:
grated black radish with beans, olive oil and pepper and sauerkraut with garlic, pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seeds oil.

Super delicious banana icecream made by my mum:
frozen bananas, mixed together with yoghurt, vanilla and honey and sprinkled with coconut powder.

Psi, mačke, ptiči
Dogs, cats, birds

Zoja acts like a maniac when she sees snow. She runs like hell, barks demanding snowball-throws to catch them [picture 6] in infinity and it is a real pleasure to see all that huge dog joy! :)

She loves cats, well, her roommates, others doesn’t interest her very much, but those cats do not know that and obviously rather run away because she looks lake a devil running around enjoying freedom. Today, this cute cat, that was much friendlier than it looks in the photo, by the way, hid into the crown of a tree by the path until Zoja was far ahead already.

She is one of the cleverest dogs I have ever seen and it is so easy to “handle” her, but she is also a dog with the most distinctive character ever with a number of moods, capriciousness, opportunism, tricks and unexplainable habits, such a funny mix.

One of them I discovered yesterday after the newest layer of snow. She wanted me to let her out in the garden many more times than usual and I said ok, she loves snow, she likes to eat it, but then I saw her standing under the bird house, greedily eating the seeds that fell down and angrily and egoistically  drifting away every bird that wanted to eat them.

If it had not been so disgustingly greedy, I would have laughed. I did later and still do! :)

Bela tržnica
A white market

nakupili malo zelenjave in par dišečih in okusnih salam.

My mum and I took a snowy walk to the market this morning,

tasted some goodies and bought some vegetables and a few delicious salamis.

Le lupina
Just a peel

Ti mali barbari! :)

Lep zasnežen konec tedna želim! :)

This is what was left of the last kaki fruit yesterday, which was intentionally left
on my grandpa’s tree recently, for birds to sweeten a bit with it. Those little savages! :)

There is going to be even more, a lot more snow, cold and wind
already tomorrow, as they say, so I wish you all a nice white weekend!! :)

Ah, ta naša ljuba slovnica
Five snowflakes ... is

No, zdaj vem, oboje je menda pravilno. :)

I've always loved my language. Slovenian. Especially in the primary school I had great teachers, so I got a really good base for later.

I just watched a tv show about the grammar. There was a lady, an American who has been living here for about 20 years already, explaining the difficulties she had while learning it at the beginning and still has, because our language suppose to be difficult and some rules are, as she kindly said, just perverse. :)

She gave an example and it is true, so irrational really, but I haven’t even realize before, because it all seems so natural to me; namely, it goes like this: one snowflake IS, two snowflakes ARE [actually here is the dual, but I don’t want to complicate it even more, because it's a whole another story! :)], three snowflakes ARE, four snowflakes ARE, five snowflakes ... IS(!). :)

Decembrsko ravnotežje
A December balance

Začetek Veselega decembra in kultura. Gre to dvoje skupaj? Gre, zaradi ravnotežja.

(posnetki so iz ljubljanskega Mestnega muzeja in vmes ena mojih najljubših pesnic, Mila Kačič;
tu je ena njenih uglasbenih pesmi v izvedbi Katje Šulc)

The start of the Merry December and The Day of Culture. Do they go together? They do, because of the balance.

(the pictures are taken in Ljubljana’s streets and its city museum, including one of my favourite Slovene poet, Mila Kačič;
here is one of her lyrics turned into music and sung by amazing Katja Šulc)

Decembrski trojček
December triple

Mirove igrarije s hecnimi obrazi pri poznem zajtrku. Funny faces made by Miro while eating late breakfast.

Vodne čarovnije
Water magic

Vsaj enega. :)

I can’t find a suitable, not too rough though :), word in English, but the enigmaticness of Notranjska landscape is far more magical than the enigmaticness of a Notranjska … man. At least one. :)

Notranjska region is known by its mysteriousness, as it has an inner world within, a quiet, special and tough underworld with many caves. Its name means Inner land. In the pictures there is Planinsko polje.
