Pustne dobrote Carnival treats

Za ta vikend sva imela namen zamaskirati se, pa se nisva. Imela sva tudi namen obiskati kakega od pustnih festivalov, pa ga tudi nisva.

Ampak je bil pa to vikend druženj, dobro smo jedli in se fino imeli.

Mami je naredila poskus in je krofe, namesto da bi jih ocvrla v olju, spekla v pečici. Ker jih je pred tem pozabila napolniti z marmelado, smo se morali znajti in jih razpolovljene sproti mazati z njo [slika 2]. Smo prišli do zaključka, da so to bolj buhteljni. :)

Prav tako je pripravila jed na tretji sliki. Recept je dobila tule, le podložila jo je z drugimi sestavinami, tistimi, ki so bile trenutno pač pri roki.

Jed na četrti sliki je bila moj prispevek in sicer sem jo pobrala iz bogate zakladnice slovenskih tradicionalnih jedi, s Koroške.
[Skuto zmešamo z mleto papriko, poprom in soljo. Oblikujemo kroglice, jih prelijemo z bučnim oljem in potresemo s čebulnimi krogci.]

Zunaj je spet vse belo in še kar sneži… :)

Before this weekend we had had in our minds to mask ourselves, Miro and I, but we didn’t. We had also planned to visit one of many carnival festivals across Slovenia, or maybe one close to Slovenia, but we didn’t.

But we did gather together with families, we ate good and had a great time.

My mum made an experiment. Instead of frying doughnuts in oil, she baked them. But because she forgot to fill them with marmalade before that, we had to be clever, so we were spreading each halved piece with it afterwards [picture 2]. Our conclusion was that they were more buhteljni. :)

She also prepared the dish in the third picture. She got the recipe here, but underlied it with ingredients she had at the moment.

The fourth dish from the top was my contribution. I’ve picked it up in a book of traditional Slovenian cuisine.
[You just mix a cottage cheese with sweet paprika powder, salt and pepper and shape little balls out of it. Pour them with pumpkin seed oil and sprinkle with onion rings.]

It’s all white outside again and is still snowing… :)
