Čarobno kroženje
Magical circling



Ta krasna jata ptic je danes kar nekaj časa krožila nad mano,
kot bi me pozdravljala ali mi pozirala.
Prav ustavila sem se in jih gledala, tako čarobno je bilo.

This beautiful flock of birds was making circles around me for quite a while today,

like greeting or posing for me.
I had to stop and watch, because it was magical.

Torej, še preden sva se z Jakoba spustila v "dolino", se je tu in tam sramežljivo prikazovalo sonce, dol grede je bilo še bolj radodarno s svojo toploto, ko pa so naju v prepolni gostilni v času kosil posedli za – po najinem mnenju – najboljšo mizo (beri: miza z odličnim razgledom - bolje se vidi na zadnjem posnetku prejšnje objave), sva uživala v s soncem obsijani pokrajini, ki se je jesensko zeleníla pod nama.
 

Ja, gostilna Dobnikar je ena tistih, kjer zagotovo veš, da ne boš razočaran (ponaša se tudi z znakom Gostilna Slovenija). Obiskujem jo že od malih nog, kamor smo z družino velikokrat zavili po kakem od osvojenih okoliških hribčkov in kjer še dandanes v strežbi videvam iste ljudi (ali pa njihove otroke) kot takrat davno nazaj.

Privoščila sva si okusno nedeljsko kosilo, kjer so bili tako prijazni in prilagodljivi, da so mi namesto gobove juhe, ki jo sicer tudi obožujem in ki je bila sestavni del kosila, prinesli korenčkovo z ingverjem, ki me je pač zamikala, ker ni ravno pogosto na jedilnih listih, za povrh pa sva naročila še sladico, s katero so naju mamili z napisom na tabli že pred vhodom v gostilno in ki je bila čisto po mojem okusu, lahka, izvirna in s sezonskim, domačim priokusom – cimetov sladoled s kostanjevo kremo.
 

Skratka, dobro je tisto kosilo, o katerem, kljub temu da je bilo tradicionalno domače, tako zelo kot je svinjska pečenka s praženim krompirjem, torej nič novega, milo sanjaš še po nekaj dneh, se pravi o celotnem doživetju, z ambientom, ljudmi in hrano vred, in kasneje z veseljem o tem širiš vest.

So, even before we started to descend from Sveti Jakob to the "valley", the sun spread its rays in a shy way here and there, it was much more generous with its warmth on the way down, but when we had been sat at the – by our opinion – the best table (meaning: table with the great view - see it better in the last picture of the previous post) in a very very crowdy gostilna in the time of lunch, we enjoyed the beautiful landscape bathing in sunshine under us.
 

Yes, the Dobnikar is one of those gostilnas where I would invite my foreign friends to taste some good traditional Slovenian cuisine. I have been visiting it since I remember, with my family, after we returned from hiking up many of the lovely surrounding hills.
 

This time, after Sunday lunch we ordered dessert, cinnamon icecream and chestnut cream – I like such desserts, light, original and with seasonal and local touch - delicious!

Skutne palačinke
Ljubljana's cottage cheese pancakes



Če ti ostane nekaj palačink viška, sta le dve možnosti – ali jih naslednji dan narežeš na tanke rezance za v juhico ali pa narediš znamenite slastne skutne palačinke, kaj pa drugega! :)

In my family, and I believe this is the way in most Slovenian families, when some pancakes stay uneaten, we usually use them in two ways at one of the next meals. First, roll each and slice them to make spaghetti-thin addition to clear beef soup, and the other way is the traditional dish from our capital area – cottage cheese pancakes.


You just spread a mixture of cottage cheese, eggs, cream, sugar, bread crumbs, salt and chopped tarragon on each (my grandma sometimes added raisins instead of tarragon), roll them, put them side by side in a baking tray and pour everything with a mixture of cream, an egg and a pinch of salt (in the picture above we didn’t make that last step, don’t know why).
 

Simple and good!

Popolno
Perfect



Sprehodila sva se skozi omamne stojnice festivala čokolade in prvič v sezoni jedla pečen kostanj, a prav noben posnetek ni nastal tam.
 

Ljubljana je bila včeraj sinonim za najbolj krasen žuboreč jesenski dan v mestu. Popolno!

We strolled through delicious stands of the Ljubljana Chocolate Festival and a bit later had the first roasted chestnuts in the season, but any of the photos were taken there.
 

Ljubljana was synonymous for the most gorgeous lively autumn day in the town yesterday. Perfect!

Brez mene
Without me



Priznam, kar nekaj zadnjih objav je bilo vnaprej pripravljenih, tako da so se,  medtem ko sem jaz morsko uživala, samoobjavljale :), te lepe pokrajine pa so čisto sveže, pozdravile so naju danes zjutraj na Gorenjskem, prvi dan po povratku.

I admit, quite a few number of the last posts were prepared in advance, so that they were, as I was enjoying sea, self-posting :), but these beautiful landscapes are fresh from the oven, they greeted us today morning, the day after the return.

Noro!
Crazy!



Res da mi gre tale tehnologija včasih na živce, ampak … hej! – kako noro je,
da se s prijateljico in sestro, ki je nekje sredi Indijskega oceana,
lahko še vedno dobivamo na čveku! :)

It is true that this technology steps on my nerves many times, but … hey! – how crazy it is
that our best friend and I can still continue with our regular coffee-chats with my sister,
even though she is in the middle of the Indian ocean! :)
