Danes me je razveselil tale pušeljček logaških zvončkov,
kljub temu da zdaj zanje tam še ni pravi čas.

This little bouquet of Logatec snowdrops made me happy today,
even though it is too soon for them to grow there.

In Slovenian this gentle flower is called zvonček [=little bell].

  1. What a coincidence! Today I bought my first snowdrops, crocuses, hellebores and squills. They smell of spring! Snowdrop in Slovenian sounds lovely! In Bulgarian it is "кокиче" [ko'kiche]. Can you imagine, Maja? We have the word "звънче" [zvan'che] and it means a small bell, too!:)))

  2. Rossichka, I can imagine so well that bouquet of yours! :)

Ha, it's really interesting, these words and their meanings!
At first I read it like "kokice" (I overlooked "h"). This is our word for "popcorns", so I thought, yes, it's true, they do look like kokice, because they're white and they pop-up in spring like "kokice". :)
